WSOP 1978 : Final Hand

There were 42 entrants to the main event. Each paid $10,000 to enter the tournament.
This was the first time that the main event paid a prize to any players other than the winner.

WSOP 1978 Day 1 saw the elimination of big players and former champions such as: Johnny Moss, Thomas "Amarillo Slim" Preston, Walter "Puggy" Pearson, Brian "Sailor" Roberts and Doyle Brunson.
